We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Secretary to join our team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about working as a Health professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Typing & Document Processing: Prepare clinical letters, reports, discharge summaries, and medical documentation using digital dictation systems. Format and process professional correspondence for clinicians and healthcare teams. Assist with specialised documentation such as research or academic materials when required.
  • Diary & Appointment Management: Manage complex diaries for consultants, psychologists, and clinical teams. Coordinate patient appointments and clinic schedules. Maintain accurate and efficient appointment systems.
  • Minute Taking: Attend clinical team meetings and multidisciplinary case conferences. Record and prepare formal meeting minutes and distribute them appropriately.
  • Patient & External Liaison: Act as a key contact for patients, carers, GPs, and external organisations. Liaise with healthcare providers and external agencies as needed. Maintain professional and compassionate communication at all times.
  • System Administration: Update and maintain Electronic Patient Records (EPR) systems such as PARIS or Insight. Monitor waiting lists and support administrative processes to help meet service targets and KPIs.
  • Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle patient information with strict confidentiality in line with Data Protection regulations. Ensure accurate and secure storage of patient records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Secretary, Healthcare Administrator, or similar role.
  • Excellent typing and document formatting skills.
  • Strong organisational and diary management abilities.
  • Experience with Electronic Patient Record systems (desirable).
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • DBS Check (copy required)
  • If you do not hold a British passport, you must provide a valid UK right-to-work share code.
