Rotolok (Holdings) Limited have been in business for over 50 years. Since our founder, Dan McCauley, started in 1973, we have grown to become a major global force in the bulk and powder handling industry. Today, we trade through 17 subsidiaries, incorporated in 8 countries of the world. Our Head Office is situated in Tiverton, Devon from which this job will be based, although there may be the potential for some hybrid working.
The Business Development Manager role will focus on the protection of existing business and drive new business for our powder handling group of businesses. Experience in mechanical handling and pneumatic conveying systems, incorporating Rotolok portfolio equipment, especially rotary valves is a must.
Whilst demonstrating our company values, this person will generate sustainable growth through boosting sales, maintaining and forging strong relationships with customers and internal sales colleagues. We are seeking a candidate that is qualified to degree level, ideally in Business Development, Sales and Marketing or Engineering. Candidates will need demonstrable experience of working within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Having solid commercial acumen and an understanding of business and marketing principles is essential. Candidates will also need to have an understanding and appreciation of different cultures and how these need to be addressed in a business development role. This role involves travelling to meet customers both nationally and internationally.
MAIN DUTIES OF JOB:
- Business strategy and development
- Use existing knowledge, contacts, and personal network to identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services.
- Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
- Attending exhibitions and events to represent the company, build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with latest trends.
- Collaborating with design and sales teams to ensure that the customers’ requirements are met and solutions optimised.
- Develop and possess a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competition in the industry and positioning.
- Growing sales
- Collaborate with colleagues to exploit sales opportunities globally to support our operations in the UK, France, USA, South Africa, India, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. In particular, the Singapore office needs developing as a mini hub to serve South-East Asia.
- Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients through well-defined key account management plans.
- Making customer installation site visits to support commissioning activities, assess and report on specific issues or requirements.
- Marketing
- Work with our external marketing agency to continue to develop and implement the digital marketing plan.
- Work with our internal marketing support to continue to develop and implement the powder handling marketing plan.
- Reporting
- Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them.
- Regularly report to the Board of Directors.
You will need to be a self-starter who focuses on generating opportunities and outcomes. You will have the ability to quickly establish and where appropriate further develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
