We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day processing of multiple income streams and will provide essential support to the Head of Finance across a variety of financial and administrative activities. Key Responsibilities
- Sales invoicing and reconciliation
- Fundraising income allocation and reconciliation
- Inputting financial data into Sage 50 Accounts
- Carrying out bookkeeping activities, including journal postings and ledger reconciliations
- Cash handling and management
- Assisting in maintaining accounting records, filing systems, and computer files
- Completing day to day financial activities, including data entry, management accounts, and year-end financial accounts
- Providing cover for annual leave within the Finance department, key areas are as follows: Client account, purchase ledger, daily banking, and cash handling
- Undertaking any other ad-hoc duties appropriate to the role
Essential
- Experience in a finance or accounts role (or strong willingness to learn)
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- IT skills including Excel
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage)
- Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector
- AAT study or willingness to undertake finance qualifications
Salary: £20,000 to £26,000 per annum depending on experience and training agreements
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Office‑based
