You will own meetings, events, private dining and associated accommodation revenue at The Roseate Edinburgh, from first enquiry to handover, and drive new business through proactive sales.
The Roseate Edinburgh is a captivating luxury boutique hotel at the gateway to Edinburgh's Old Town, where vintage glamour meets contemporary luxury, and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Since June 2026 the hotel has been home to KIN by Gary Maclean, a 42-cover modern Scottish restaurant and bar led by Scotland's first National Chef and winner of MasterChef: The Professionals – the first chef-led restaurant in the Roseate collection, and an intimate setting for private dining and celebrations that is central to this role.
You will maximise revenue across meetings and events, private dining, KIN and accommodation by converting inbound enquiries quickly and well and building a pipeline of new and repeat business. A key focus is raising awareness of KIN and its private dining offer in the Edinburgh market. You are the client's single point of contact from first enquiry to signed contract and a smooth handover, and the hotel's face in the Edinburgh corporate, agency and wedding markets. You will work closely with events and operations, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Revenue and the Roseate group sales and marketing team.
What you will do:
- Respond to all meetings and events enquiries – conferences, private dining, celebrations and weddings – within agreed response times; qualify each one, prepare tailored proposals and pricing, conduct show-rounds and convert provisional bookings to definite business.
- Issue and negotiate contracts reflecting agreed terms, deposits, cancellation and attrition clauses; track contracts, deposits and option dates; keep the sales and catering system accurate for every booking.
- Act as the client's main contact until handover; gather final details (menus, set-ups, AV, timings, dietary requirements, rooming lists), produce accurate function sheets and brief operational teams; meet clients on the day and gather feedback to secure repeat business.
- Identify and develop new business from corporates, agencies (DMCs, event and venue-finding agencies), associations, and wedding and private clients through regular outbound activity, client visits, entertaining and familiarisation trips.
- Raise awareness of KIN by Gary Maclean and its private dining offer, driving bookings for client entertaining, business lunches and celebrations; sell accommodation alongside events, including group room blocks, delegate packages and corporate rates.
- Grow key accounts and agency relationships through structured account plans; partner with marketing on campaigns, packages and offers; cross-refer leads to sister hotels across the Roseate collection.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, wedding fairs and industry events, with prepared target lists and prompt follow-up; build the hotel's profile with VisitScotland, Edinburgh convention bodies and local business networks.
- Report weekly and monthly on pipeline, conversion and revenue against budget; monitor competitor venues, pricing and market trends; contribute to the annual sales and marketing plan and the meetings and events budget.
How success is measured:
- Targets are set annually with your line manager: meetings and events, private dining and KIN revenue and room nights against budget; enquiry-to-definite conversion; response time to new enquiries; new accounts opened and repeat business; proactive sales activity and qualified leads from trade shows; client satisfaction scores and event reviews; accuracy of contracts, function sheets and system records.
About you:
- At least two to three years' experience in hotel or venue meetings and events sales, with a track record of converting enquiries and meeting targets.
- A confident negotiator, comfortable with contracts, pricing and commercial terms.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to new business, including cold outreach.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with polished proposals and presentations.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail across many live enquiries.
- Desirable: experience in luxury or boutique hospitality; an established network across Edinburgh and Scottish corporates, agencies and the wedding market; knowledge of revenue management principles, including displacement and total revenue; experience with a sales and catering system such as Opera Sales & Catering.
What we offer:
- A competitive salary plus sales incentive scheme.
- Discounted stays and dining across the Roseate collection.
- Meals on duty.
- Pension scheme and holiday entitlement in line with company policy.
- Training and clear development paths within a growing luxury group.
The role is hotel-based with regular client visits and occasional UK and international travel for trade shows. This job description is not exhaustive; the postholder may be asked to carry out other reasonable duties in line with business needs.
