Our client based in Hoddesdon is a well-established professional services business seeking an experienced Administration & Accounts Office Manager to support the running of the office. This is a hands-on role combining administration, accounts support and front-of-house duties, requiring strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Managing diaries, scheduling meetings and coordinating appointments
- Organising internal and external meetings, including preparation of paperwork
- Drafting and formatting fee letters and business correspondence
- Typing correspondence and supporting professional staff with administrative tasks
- Acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls and visitors
- Meeting and greeting clients and ensuring a professional front‑of‑house presence
- Managing office emails and general enquiries
- Raising invoices and maintaining the sales ledger
- Processing VAT and carrying out account reconciliations
- Using Sage for day-to-day accounts and invoicing tasks
- Liaising with external accountants where required
- Maintaining accurate records and filing systems
- Supporting the smooth running of the office and assisting with general administration as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in an administration or office management role
- Accounts/basic bookkeeping experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Sage experience (desirable)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience with accounts duties including invoicing, VAT and reconciliations
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professional, approachable and well-presented
This is a full-time permanent role working 9am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Our client would also consider a 4-day working week for the right candidate. The salary on offer for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience. Candidates must be highly organised, flexible, adaptable and a team player who is willing to assist in all aspects of the company administration.
