The Roof Gardens is a social club in the sky, 100 feet above the streets of Kensington. Close to an acre of private gardens with views across London to the horizon, The Roof Gardens is a new generation members club.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Maitre D' to lead our front-of-house restaurant operation and deliver an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests.
As the face of the restaurant, you will oversee reservations, seating and guest flow, ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and outstanding service. Working closely with the kitchen and management teams, you will lead by example, maintain the highest hospitality standards and help drive the restaurant's commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome members and guests, delivering a professional, personalised and memorable dining experience.
- Manage reservations, seating plans and guest flow to maximise both guest satisfaction and restaurant occupancy.
- Build strong relationships with regular and VIP guests, recognising preferences and anticipating their needs.
- Monitor service standards throughout each shift and resolve guest enquiries or concerns promptly.
- Work closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Oversee the reservation system, manage waiting lists and coordinate special requests, celebrations and dietary requirements.
- Optimise table allocation to maximise covers without compromising the guest experience.
- Support opening and closing procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Encourage appropriate upselling and promote menus, events and Club offerings where appropriate.
- Monitor guest feedback, maintain accurate guest records and identify opportunities to continually improve service.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Maitre D' or in a similar leadership role within luxury hospitality, fine dining or a private members' club.
- Experience using reservation systems such as OpenTable, SevenRooms or ResDiary.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of restaurant operations and reservation management.
- Ability to remain calm and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
