This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA Qualified, first or second mover from practice who wants to step into a commercially focused finance role within a fast-paced retail organisation. As Finance Business Partner, you will support commercial, trading, operational and central teams with high-quality analysis, insight, and financial guidance. You'll work closely with senior leaders and play a key role in shaping business decisions.
Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes across Retail, Commercial, Marketing, People and Operations.
- Prepare weekly trading packs and monthly performance reports with clear insight and commentary.
- Consolidate and analyse data to support commercial strategies.
- Partner with trading and commercial teams on buying decisions, category planning, and margin optimisation.
- Deliver promotional analysis, ROI assessments and cost-of-sale analysis.
- Support stores with MI, performance analytics, and actionable financial insight.
- Build financial models for new store openings, scenarios and business cases.
- Monitor KPIs, OTB/WSSI and trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Communicate financial information clearly across a wide range of stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
This role is well suited to someone who is a first mover from Practice: Qualified (ACA/ACCA) in audit, accounts prep or advisory work; and now wants exposure outside of pure financial reporting and into commercial decision-making. Equally we would be interested to speak to candidates who have already moved into industry but are looking for greater variety, broader stakeholder exposure or a more commercially strategic role. Candidates who want to develop their business partnering capability and expand their influence within an organisation.
Key attributes:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate numbers into insight.
- Confident communication, especially with non-finance colleagues.
- Advanced Excel and the appetite to develop modelling skills further.
- A proactive approach and enthusiasm for influencing performance.
