The Role

Hackney is one of Britain’s most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. The challenges that have arisen over the last two years have intensified the need for action and we are determined to rebuild Hackney for, and with, our diverse communities.

Pause, STEPs, and this role

About Pause:

Pause works with women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care.

Through an intense programme of support, it aims to break this cycle and give women the opportunity to reflect, tackle destructive patterns of behaviour, and to develop new skills and responses that can help them create a more positive future. In doing so, we aim to prevent the damaging consequences of thousands more children being taken into care.

The STEPS programme is delivered within the national Making Every Adult Matter framework (MEAM) www.meam.org.uk

As Pause Practice Lead and STEPS Strategic Lead, the post-holder will work within the Public Health Service to provide leadership and management support to the Pause and STEPS practitioner staff to deliver a package of health, therapeutic and social support.
