Overview
The Admin and Booking Co-ordinators work across Therapies and MSST providing outpatient services for GP, Consultant and AHP referrers and private patients. Services are accessed by Shropshire, Telford, and Wales and out of area patients. The services are provided by range of clinicians including Consultants in Sport and Exercise Medicine, Registrar GP with Extended role, Advanced Practitioners (Podiatry and Physiotherapy), Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and associated support staff. The services are delivered in locations across the county and include MSK, Womens Health, Paediatrics Rheumatology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, MCSI.
Responsibilities
- Work across numerous systems to provide a Shropshire wide service, including ERS, RIO, Apollo; referrals and queries are managed in line with service standards.
- Provide a patient focused and responsive contact point for patients, ensuring all appointments are booked within the specified time limits.
- Manage delegated responsibility in operating a partial or full booking process, receiving paper and electronic referrals for Outpatient specialties.
- Lead responsibility for clinic management for a group of Clinicians/Specialises.
- Provide cross cover to other Specialties in the absence of colleagues.
- Co-ordinate the outpatient pathway from the ERS, through discharge or PIFU, ensuring appointments are booked according to relevant protocols and MSST handbook booking policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the efficient and effective running of all designated clinics.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with other staff, Clinicians and support staff, radiology and other diagnostics, record staff, MSST partners & GP Practice staff.
- Maintain multiple clear and robust waiting lists, monitor clinic capacity to treat all patients on the waiting list, and in collaboration with the MSST referral centre.
- Work closely with Team Leaders and the Business Manager/Assistant Manager and Service Manager.
- Deal with enquiries from Outpatient staff, MSST partners referring Practitioners, Patients and other Health Service Organisations, providing essential support service in relation to Therapy Services and MSST Level 3.
