Job Purpose: To support the Head of QHSE at Riverside Property Services in developing and implementing strategies for health, safety and environmental sustainability across RPS. Identify health and safety problems, communicate solutions, support risk control and minimise environmental impacts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head of QHSE in implementing overall strategy for health, safety and environmental sustainability.
- Implement delivery of Riverside Property Services Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Monitor legislation changes, keep the Legal Register and company procedures up to date.
- Promote good health, safety and environmental practices across all activities.
- Support delivery of standardised systems and procedures for effective management of health & safety performance.
- Ensure operational teams comply with policies and procedures.
- Provide high level of customer service for employees and managers.
- Carry out or arrange workplace health and safety audits; implement remedial recommendations.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, prepare reports, recommend actions, submit RIDDOR notices.
- Maintain accident statistics, analyse trends, propose remedial action.
- Provide support and advice to the Health and Safety Committee.
- Liaise with trade union officials, conduct safety inspections.
- Provide general health and safety advice.
- Review risk assessments with managers and union representatives.
- Engage with managers and employees to improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with Equality and Diversity policy.
- Ensure data compliance with legislation and policies.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) accompanied by relevant experience.
- Competent in audit and inspection processes, report writing and action‑plan development.
- Experience with HSE & Environmental management systems including ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Membership of relevant professional bodies, e.g., IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA.
- Internal Auditor certification (9001/14001/45001).
