You will provide assistance to residents who need physical personal care and perform individual tasks in accordance with their support plans to maintain or improve their quality of life. You will also be able to recognise signs of stress among residents and work with the team to find positive ways to reduce stress and give residents control over their lives as much as possible.

About you:

  • Experience of working in a customer-focused, residential environment, offering personal care to a diverse group of people.
  • An awareness of housing and Health and Safety legislation and regulation.
  • National Care Standards Awareness.
  • Flexibility to work hours to meet customer and business needs, which may include working outside of normal office hours and lone working.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a committed and compassionate team, delivering an outstanding experience to customers whilst being supported by your colleagues and Line Manager.
  • Recognise and identify each individual customer’s needs to ensure a person-centred approach.
  • Deliver and enable customers to meet the aspirations within their individual support plans.
  • Provide direct personal care to customers in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) definitions.
  • Help customers with mobility difficulties and use assessed equipment.
  • Administer and support medication for customers.
  • Assist with preparation of meals, snacks and drinks where necessary.
  • Provide light general household domestic duties.
  • Communicate clearly, building trusted relationships with customers and their wider support network.
  • Encourage customers to participate in social activities and feel part of the community.
  • Ensure customers are safe at all times by carrying out all duties within Riverside’s Policy and Procedure framework.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of care and medication support provided.
  • Promptly respond to and report any concerns relating to the care, support, well-being or behaviour of customers to a manager.
  • Recognise any signs of abuse and immediately report them to a manager.
  • Record all complaints and proactively talk through the complaint’s procedure with customers.

Other Duties:

You will be required to work a range of shifts on a 24 hour, 7 days per week rota basis. You will undertake regular training to enable you to deliver your role safely. From time to time you may be required to undertake additional duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, in consultation with your line manager.

Additional Information:

The Group has offices across the UK and there may be a requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role. The role will be exposed to sensitive information; therefore, the role holder is expected to maintain levels of confidentiality at all times. In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to work flexibly during the hours of operation. Person specification:

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience of working in a team and communicating positively with other people.
  • Experience of being able to organise tasks and plan accordingly whilst dealing with people.
  • Be caring, empathetic, flexible and have a resilient, can-do attitude.
  • Be able to use initiative and have confidence to make and act on decisions.
  • Basic administrative skills & IT Skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Office).

Desirable:

  • Awareness of CQC standards.
  • Experience of providing direct care to a diverse group of customers.
