The Aire Rivers Trust is a small to medium sized environmental charity with a focus on the quality of the River Aire and its tributaries. Our aims are to improve water quality and biodiversity along the watercourses and to connect the people of the valley to their streams.
We are looking for a new trustee with a background in accounting to lead on financial governance. Already in place is a team of ten staff including a Chief Executive and a Finance Officer who manages our day to day and project accounts. The Board of Trustees are committed and have a broad range of expertise, and this is a strategic recruitment to ensure succession for overseeing financial matters.
The role is unpaid, voluntary, rewarding and on average should take a couple of hours per week. Our focus group, the Finance and Risk Committee meets every two months and the full Board meets two weeks after the F&R Committee. Much of the job can be done at home and we have offices in Greengates, Bradford.
The role would suit a retiring or recently retired accounting professional who wants to contribute to the established momentum of wildlife and landscape recovery in the Aire Valley.
