We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our IT Department as a Junior IT Technician. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in technology and excellent interpersonal skills as they will be working directly with colleagues and guests. The ability to plan work around the hotel's operational requirements is crucial. Being in the hospitality industry, the candidate must be a good team player, with a wide skillset who will complement the existing experienced and friendly team. This is a challenging and exciting role that will stretch the skills of the successful candidate.
You will be part of the IT team that design, implement and support the Telecommunications, Security and IT infrastructure of the business. We are an independent decision-making department and undertake a very wide range of support, design and commissioning work. The role, due to its varied nature, will require you to utilise a wide range of skills as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly. You will hold a junior position within the department that will encompass responsibility for providing onsite 1st line IT / telecoms support with day-to-day issues.
You will need to be able to work independently, plan and follow steps for your assigned tasks. Quality assurance and diligence in your work is key. You will understand basic computer / network theory which in turn will allow you to formulate troubleshooting steps for you to resolve faults independently. You will have an eye for detail and will test the results of your work before completing the task. This role is most suited to someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about technology and undertakes their own projects at home for self-study. We are keen to hear about your home IT projects and other learning activities.
Entry Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills with a real focus on customer needs.
- Sound questioning and troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Windows, Apple Mac / iCloud ecosystem is essential.
- Previous experience working in a computer repair shop or repair center.
- Practical hands-on support experience.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting software, hardware, and peripheral issues.
- Knowledge of IP networks, subnets and VLANs.
