Overview: The Rise School is an Ofsted‑rated ‘Good’ specialist school for autistic pupils aged 4‑18 years. At full capacity we support 130 pupils across primary and secondary education within a nurturing, ambitious and highly specialist environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre‑planned lessons and cover teaching across the curriculum for pupils Year 5/6 to GCSE.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to pupils with autism and co‑occurring needs, managing behaviours of distress with understanding and professionalism.
  • Offer clear feedback to teachers following lessons and collaborate with the teaching team to support pupil progress.
  • Support break and lunchtime playground duties and other school activities as required.
  • Work flexibly across the school rather than being assigned to a specific class team.

Qualifications:

  • Evidence of genuine understanding of autism and specialist education.
  • Experience in mainstream or specialist settings (secondary experience an advantage).
  • Strong basic English, computing and technology skills.
  • Lived experience of autism and a willingness to continue learning through ongoing TLA training.
  • Calm, resilient, collaborative, and able to recognise that progress and engagement may look different for every learner.
