The Rise Group Practice are looking for a salaried GP to join our team for 2-4 sessions a week, start date immediate.

Main duties of the job

  • The successful candidate will work with the team to provide safe, effective and comprehensive primary care to our registered patients.
  • The practice offers both face to face and telephone consultations, as well as home visits where appropriate.
  • Duties to also include:
    • Contributing to our strong culture of continuity of care for patients
    • Routine clinical administration including reviewing test results, referrals, actioning clinical correspondence
    • Safe prescribing in line with guidelines

About the Practice

We are a patient‑centred GP surgery with a focus on continuity of care and a strong knowledge of our practice population. We are committed to providing accessible, timely and high‑quality care in a way that best suits individual patient needs. Our clinical team consists of 2 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs and 1 Nurse, supported by a positive and experienced reception/admin team. Our staff turnover is very low; we have built strong working relationships and are very much looking forward to integrating the successful applicant into our team.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide care for registered patients including diagnosis, examination and appropriate treatment, investigation and onward referral.
  • Participate in acute, chronic and anticipatory clinical care, preventative care, screening, risk management and patient education, ensuring continuity of care throughout.
  • Undertake and manage the administrative workload generated by the clinical workload and other administration necessary for the running of the practice.
  • Provide appropriate, evidence‑based clinical care to patients seen, and arranging appropriate treatment, investigation and referral.
  • All aspects of work with reference to agreed practice, local and national guidelines.
  • Record data on the practice IT system to a standard compatible with good clinical record keeping and following the practice guidance.
  • Record relevant and timely data to aid the practice to meet its targets.
  • Prescribe in accordance with accepted clinical practice and guidance, and follow both practice and local policy/procedures.
  • Conduct home visits when indicated.
  • Participate in the education and training of team members as appropriate.

  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. Confidentiality, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity.
  • A commitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice.
  • Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
  • Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

  • GP accreditation (MRCGP examination or equivalent experience)

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
