IMMEDIATE START! Mechanical Design Engineer (Label Printer), (Contract - 6 Months, Potentially Up To 9 Months), On-Site/Possible Hybrid On Occasion in Plymouth, MN.

Do you have 5+ years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience with desktop printing equipment? Are you proficient with CAD Software (SolidWorks Preferred)? We are assisting our Client in Plymouth, MN with their Contract, Mechanical Design Engineer (New Label Printer) opportunity. This 6-9 month contract role begins immediately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the final mockup of a new label printer to final design and then to production.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Mechanical Engineer/Team Lead and another Mechanical Engineer.
  • Utilize CAD System (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Participate in prototype builds, testing, and engineering reviews.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools.
  • Experience with precision mechanical systems, printer mechanisms, or electromechanical products.
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles.
  • Creativity and excellence in design minded.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with sheet metal design, plastic injection molding and label printer mechanisms.
  • Background in printing/imaging (labels) equipment or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of thermal management in electronics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, CE, etc.).
Position Benefits, Pay, and Schedule
  • Contract (6 months up to 9 months)
  • Location: On-Site/Possible Hybrid in Plymouth, MN
  • Hours: Full-time hours preferred but will consider part-time - weekly hours may be reduced towards end of project. Between 8 A.M.- 6 P.M. Engineers typically start @ 8:30 A.M./9:00 A.M.
  • Pay: $60 - $125/hr. (DOE)
