Junior Estimator in Irlam

Junior Estimator Location: Irlam, Greater Manchester Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum Hours: Days Job Type: Full-time About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Junior Estimator to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Irlam. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within estimating and commercial manufacturing. The role would suit an individual who already has some experience of quoting or estimating within a manufacturing environment, or someone who has recently completed a Quantity Surveying degree and is looking to take their first step into industry. Working closely with the wider commercial and manufacturing teams, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations, helping to assess project requirements and ensuring costs are correctly calculated. Key Responsibilities * Preparing and supporting the production of customer quotations * Reviewing drawings, specifications and customer requirements * Calculating material, labour and manufacturing costs * Liaising with internal teams to obtain accurate costing information * Supporting senior estimators with larger or more complex quotations * Maintaining accurate estimating and pricing records * Communicating with customers and suppliers where required * Developing an understanding of manufacturing processes and associated costs About You We are looking for someone who is numerate, analytical and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in developing a career in estimating. You may be: * An experienced Estimator or Quotation Engineer looking for a junior-level opportunity * Someone who has previously worked in a manufacturing environment and has experience preparing quotes or costs * A recent Quantity Surveying graduate looking to move into a manufacturing-based estimating role * Someone with strong mathematical and analytical skills who is keen to learn and develop Previous manufacturing estimating experience would be advantageous, but training and development will be provided for the right person.
