The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is recruiting for two Senior International Policy Adviser roles within the Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement Team in the Policy Directorate. Both roles provide key support in advancing the Academy’s international engagement and policy work, while leading projects and building relationships with policymakers, researchers and practitioners.
Role 1 – Senior International Policy Adviser (Global and EU Research & Innovation Policy and Mobility Policy)
This role focuses on global research and innovation policy, including EU research and innovation, international mobility policy, and strengthening the Academy’s global research and innovation policy activities. The successful candidate will contribute to work on the international connectedness of the humanities and social sciences, international funding landscapes, and the role of SHAPE disciplines in global innovation collaboration.
Role 2 – Senior International Policy Adviser (Humanity, Climate & Nature, and Global (Dis)order)
This role focuses on the Academy’s international policy programmes on humanity, climate and nature, and global (dis)order. The successful candidate will lead projects across the Academy’s international policy portfolio, providing expert analysis, influencing policy development, and strengthening the Academy’s international engagement.
