The Ridgeway Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, a leading independent healthcare provider. This role is a full‑time position in the Pathology department, covering a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role:

  • Oversee day‑to‑day coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, collections, and result reporting.
  • Act as the first point of contact for pathology‑related queries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers.
  • Ensure adherence to sample handling protocols, infection prevention standards, and relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Use pathology IT systems and hospital records platforms to enter, retrieve, and monitor test requests and results.
  • Monitor stock levels of sample kits, pathology consumables, and courier supplies, re‑ordering as needed.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
