Radiographer (Bank) – The Ridgeway Hospital, Swindon, part of Circle Health Group. Bank shifts on an "as and when required" basis to supplement staffing during busy periods and cover for staff absent.

Duties of This Role Include:

  • Perform wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X‑rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high‑quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
  • Adapt techniques to meet needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified and person‑centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable and reassured throughout examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria:

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Minimum 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient‑centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
