Our fantastic team in Beeswing are on the lookout for compassionate individuals with a positive attitude to join them as Support Practitioners. You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ. However, due to the requirements of these services we are currently only able to consider female candidates. Candidates must also have a valid UK driving licence (Manual). Access to your own car is not required.
This is a full time post consisting of 35hrs per week worked as 5 shifts over 7 days. Evening and weekend work is required. We can also consider part time contracts ranging from 16-30hrs.
The Role: This is a 24/7 supported living service set in the village of Beeswing. The service has capacity for 5 individuals all living in their own homes. Each individual has complex & varying needs including Intellectual & Physical Disabilities and Autism. The service has a staff base on site which is manned 24/7 including 2 sleepovers. Shifts vary from an 8am start to a 10pm finish. An average shift pattern includes 8-3:30 / 2:30-10. There can be split shifts or longer/shorter shifts where service needs apply. There is an element of behaviours of concern which are managed using a Positive Behaviour Support approach. Staff will require to complete service specific training including CALM, Epilepsy & M&H.
As a Support Practitioner, you will assist individuals living in their own homes with disabilities and/or additional support needs in all aspects of their daily lives, including support with medication and finances, housework, meal preparation, cooking and personal care. The people we support have a variety of different hobbies which we'll be looking to you to take an active interest in, from going out for a tasty bite or catching the latest movie to a gym session or group activity, the list is endless.
