Our fabulous team are on the lookout for active and compassionate individuals with the ability to motivate and inspire to join them as Support Practitioners on a full-time, permanent basis (39 hours per week).
You don't need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit based on your values and transferable skills and will provide all the training you need to succeed, including the opportunity to complete your SVQ.
It would be great if you have a full UK, manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years' driving experience but this isn't a deal‑breaker.
The Role
Our dedicated team provide support to 7 individuals living in their homes in the same block of flats and close by, who have diverse needs, including Mental Health challenges, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, addictions and past trauma.
As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including support with personal finances, prompts with medication and personal care, going to appointments and activities along with emotional and social support.
You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You'll take an active interest in their hobbies which include, going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. With your help. You'll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.
To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we'll need you to:
- Have an empathetic and caring nature.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in using computers.
- Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
- Good organisational skills.
Shift Patterns
Our team provide 24/7 support, including early shifts, late shifts and sleepovers. This role will also include working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.
The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours, so for every sleep you cover you will receive an additional £107.60 in your pay.

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer - this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
