We are hiring in Kirkintilloch! If you share our values and want to make a real difference, then we want to hear from you! Our team is on the lookout for two compassionate and motivated male colleagues with a positive attitude to join them as Support Practitioners on a part-time, permanent basis. We have a 22.5 hour contract and a 16 hour contract available. You don’t need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.

The Role

You will join our dedicated team who provide support to two gents with learning disabilities in a 24/7 supported living accommodation. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to take an active interest in the hobbies and passions of those we support. Whether it’s discovering new opportunities, encouraging social connections, learning new skills or reducing isolation, you’ll help individuals lead the lives they choose.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling, personal care and help with household chores.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our team provides 24/7 support, shifts include 9am - 5pm and 1:30pm - 9:30pm with 1 sleepover per week shifts. The role will include working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £107.60.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country’s largest provider of social care. We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism. Some of the people we support can present challenging behaviour or require a high level of personal care.
