We have a fantastic opportunity for a Scholar Programme Lead to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and coordination of scholar programming, ensuring the smooth planning, execution and continuous improvement of events and initiatives that meet the needs of the scholar community. We are looking for the successful candidate to start with us as soon as possible.
About the Rhodes Trust: The Rhodes Trust is an educational charity which offers Rhodes Scholarships to exceptional students from around the world to come and study at the University of Oxford. The role includes ownership of the scholar events calendar, operational delivery in partnership with relevant teams, and oversight of data, and reporting to support accountability and informed decision-making. The role also acts as a central coordination point across teams, maintaining effective working relationships and alignment of activity, while upholding the standards, policies and objectives of the Scholar Programme.
The role will be responsible for:
- Leading the project management of all scholar programming events ranging from large-scale formal events to smaller led events, working collaboratively to ensure that milestones and deadlines are observed, and that all events stakeholders are informed and involved at appropriate times.
- Gathering and organising data and information for the scholar programme, including management of event registration, attendance tracking, and feedback processes using relevant platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Rhodes Connect, survey tools) and development of communication mechanisms to aid accountability.
- Working closely with scholar group leads and scholar programme facilitators to co-ordinate scholar-led activities and ensure these are in line with the goals and policies of the scholar programme, including ensuring that communications and planning prioritises inclusion and care for scholars, and clearly articulates commitments to accessibility and consent culture.
- Designing and scheduling the termly and annual calendar of events, and ensure these are communicated to the Rhodes House events team supporting the effective planning and delivery of both scholar and Trust-led initiatives.
- Role modelling the Trust's organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation.
- Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
- Excellent project management skills and significant experience of end-to-end management of events both on a small and large scale, in a pressurised international environment with demonstrable ownership of delivery.
- Commitment to the strategic excellence of scholar programming at Rhodes Trust, and to reflecting that in the scholar events.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent events and priorities, with the ability to operate independently and make informed operational decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an adaptable and sensitive approach in varying contexts including experience managing customer-facing communications.
Desirable skills and experience:
- A good understanding of the issues of parity and equity in scholar experience, and how to address these.
