We are recruiting for a leading supplier working with major supermarkets and large UK retailers, who are looking for a Softs Wovens Designer across womenswear to join the team. Based in London, this is a customer‑facing role suited to a commercially driven designer with a feminine, trend‑led handwriting and the confidence to present ideas clearly and persuasively to key retail accounts. You will play a central role in delivering trend‑right, highly wearable soft woven ranges that meet the needs of high‑volume retail environments and align with customer briefs and trading strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop commercially focused soft woven ranges tailored to supermarket and large retail customers, aligning with briefs, target price points and volume requirements.
  • Present ranges, concepts and design updates to key retail customers with confidence, adapting presentation style to different stakeholders.
  • Translate trends into feminine, accessible product, ensuring designs are highly commercial, scalable and suitable for large‑volume production.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness across bestsellers, competitor activity and retail performance to inform relevant and profitable design decisions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs are delivered on time and in line with customer expectations, supporting the full product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to short lead development where required, ensuring speed to market while maintaining a consistent feminine aesthetic and quality.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience designing soft wovens within a supplier environment, ideally working with supermarkets or large UK retailers, with a strong understanding of high‑volume retail requirements.
  • Confident and credible in customer‑facing situations, with the ability to build relationships and influence key retail partners.
  • A feminine, trend‑aware design handwriting with the ability to interpret trends into commercially successful product.
  • Neat, feminine and highly considered handwriting, with excellent attention to detail across all presentation work.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working at pace across multiple accounts, reacting to the fast‑moving nature of supermarket and large retail business.
  • Experience working with short lead times is advantageous.
