We are seeking a talented and creative Womenswear Jersey & Nightwear Designer to join our clients dynamic design team. The role will focus on delivering innovative, trend-led collections that balance creativity with commercial appeal. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, excellent market awareness, and a passion for womenswear, with specific expertise in jersey and nightwear.
Based in the Leicester office with hybrid working and excellent company benefits.
Main Responsibilities
- Researching and identifying seasonal trends, fabrics, colours, and silhouettes relevant to womenswear jersey and nightwear
- Designing and developing collections that are creative, innovative, and commercially viable
- Producing detailed CADs, technical packs, and presentation boards using Adobe Creative Suite
- Liaising with product development and technical teams to ensure accurate garment execution from concept through to final sample
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to support smooth design development
- Presenting design ideas and concepts to buyers, clients, and stakeholders clearly and effectively
- Monitoring competitor activity and contributing to range building with a customer-focused approach
- Managing multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
Person Specification
- Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline
- Previous experience in womenswear design, ideally with a focus on jersey and nightwear
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong CAD and technical drawing skills
- In-depth knowledge of fabric types, print techniques, and garment construction
- Highly creative with excellent trend awareness, strong sense of colour and style, and attention to detail
