We are looking for a talented and commercially focused Menswear Designer to join an exciting new division within an established, global business. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a start‑up environment backed by the infrastructure, resources, and expertise of a highly successful international business. Based in London, you will play a key role within a small, agile team responsible for designing and developing menswear collections for leading high‑street retailers and supermarket accounts across the UK and international markets. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of menswear trends, product development, and commercial design.

Responsibilities

  • Designing commercially successful menswear collections across multiple product categories, with a key focus on denim, casual bottoms, shirts and jersey.
  • Supporting business growth through proactive design initiatives and identifying new product opportunities.
  • Contributing to the development of the new division by bringing fresh ideas, energy, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Researching seasonal trends, consumer behaviour, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Creating trend‑led yet commercially relevant designs tailored to customer requirements and target price points.
  • Developing seasonal concepts, colour palettes, fabric direction, washes, graphics, and garment details.
  • Producing detailed design packs, technical sketches, and product specifications for development and sampling.
  • Working closely with customers to present design concepts, collection proposals, and seasonal updates.
  • Liaising regularly with manufacturing teams in India throughout the product development process.
  • Building strong relationships with key retail customers and acting as a trusted design partner.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience within menswear design, ideally gained within a supplier, retailer, or branded environment.
  • Strong product knowledge across multi‑product menswear categories.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabrics, washes, and finishing techniques.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret trends into customer‑focused product.
  • Experience designing for high‑street retailers, supermarkets, or large‑volume retail accounts.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and relevant design software.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
