We are working closely with a leading fashion supplier and are looking to recruit a talented Childrenswear Designer to join their growing design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad range of childrenswear categories, creating trend-driven and commercial collections for an international customer base. Based in Manchester, you’ll be working across girls’ and boys’ apparel, covering baby, toddler, younger and older age ranges. Working within a fast‑paced and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in developing innovative collections across woven, jersey and leisurewear categories for customers across the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Designing commercially focused and trend‑led collections across girls’ and boys’ childrenswear
  • Creating product ranges across woven, jersey and leisurewear categories
  • Developing collections for baby, toddler, younger and older childrenswear age groups
  • Conducting trend research, competitor analysis and market shopping to identify new opportunities and emerging trends
  • Producing inspirational mood boards, design concepts, CADs and detailed product specifications
  • Working closely with the Design Manager to deliver seasonal product strategies and customer requirements
  • Developing strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and customers
  • Attending customer meetings and presentations where required
  • Managing multiple projects and critical‑path deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Supporting the development process from initial concept through to final production

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience working within a childrenswear design role
  • Strong knowledge of woven, jersey and leisurewear product areas
  • A solid understanding of childrenswear across baby, toddler, younger and older age ranges
  • Excellent trend forecasting and commercial awareness
  • Strong CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Ability to manage multiple customers, categories and deadlines simultaneously
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with strong attention to detail
