We're recruiting on behalf of a leading UK fashion supplier, currently looking for a

Junior Fabric Technologist to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their technical expertise within a fast-paced, established fashion business, working closely with experienced technologists on fabric testing, quality and compliance across ladies multiproduct.

Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Work with fabric mills to ensure that fabric is submitted for testing in-line with the critical path.
  • Review bulk test reports and work with mills to improve fabric qualities which don't meet standards.
  • Assist with fabric approvals and communicate comments clearly to our customers' ( both on email and individual testing platforms).
  • Check fabric information is accurate on mill fabric specifications.
  • Assist with in-house quality checks such as washing shrinkage, print durability and colourfastness.
  • Support sustainability and compliance requirements by chasing mills for relevant certificates such as GRS Transaction Certificates.
  • Help maintain the company's fabric and yarn database and add new qualities to the system (ensuring information is accurate).

Person Specifications

  • Good understanding of textile testing and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in fashion and textile innovation.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Textile Technology, Textile Science, Fashion Technology or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of textile fibres, yarns, fabric construction and finishing.
