Our client, a leading fashion supplier based in Leicester, is seeking a talented and commercially aware Junior Designer to join their growing Menswear Multi-Product team on a Maternity Cover. Supplying to some of the UK's most recognised high street retailers, this business has built an excellent reputation for delivering trend‑led, commercially successful collections across multiple product categories. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and creative Designer looking to develop their career, working closely with the wider design and sales teams; you will support the creation of innovative and commercial menswear ranges for major retail accounts. Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting the design and development of menswear multi-product ranges across a variety of categories.
- Conducting trend research, competitor analysis, and market shopping to identify key trends, colours, fabrics, and silhouettes.
- Creating mood boards, trend presentations, and customer-focused design concepts.
- Producing detailed CADs, technical sketches, and specification packs to support product development.
- Working closely with internal teams to develop commercially viable products that align with customer requirements and market trends.
- Assisting with fabric, trim, and garment sourcing to support seasonal collections.
- Preparing and presenting design concepts and range developments to customers and internal stakeholders.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience within a fashion menswear design role at either a retailer or supplier.
- A strong interest and passion for menswear fashion and current market trends.
- Experience designing across multiple product categories would be advantageous.
- Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong CAD and technical drawing capabilities.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the UK high street retail market.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
£45,000 - £55,000 per annum + excellent company benefits
