We are working with a fashion brand across womenswear, menswear and accessories. They are seeking a Garment Technologist across menswear. Based in London, they pride themselves on high standards, exceptional quality and fit. You would be joining a technical team, working closely with Design, Buying and suppliers to deliver beautiful, high-quality and commercially relevant product. This role offers hybrid working.
Main responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team of Garment Technologists, owning styles from prototype through to delivery into stores.
- Interpreting designers' sketches and detail sheets, and developing them into high-quality, production-ready garments with suppliers.
- Fitting garments on the body and managing fittings in line with company critical path timelines.
- Ensuring high standards of garment construction, make and fit across your product areas.
- Clearly communicating fit, make and construction comments to suppliers and internal teams.
- Continuously assessing garment quality and construction methods.
- Participating in risk assessment sessions with all relevant stakeholders.
- Reviewing and challenging size charts based on customer profile, trends and competitor information.
- Maintaining and updating the critical path and key deadlines for your styles.
Person specification:
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit and make.
- Experience managing menswear multi product within a fashion or retail environment.
- Proven ability to confidently conduct fit sessions on the body and make sound decisions on fit and balance for the target customer.
- Excellent organisational skills, with experience working to a critical path and meeting tight deadlines.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain technical fit and make issues to suppliers and internal teams.
- Experience in fabric and garment testing.
