We are working with a well-established and fast-growing fashion supplier based in Central London who are looking for an enthusiastic Fabric Developer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior to mid-level candidate to develop their career within a dynamic and product‑led environment, working closely with design, factories and international mills. This role will play a key part in driving fabric innovation and development across womenswear collections, with a strong focus on jersey and soft fabrics. The successful candidate will be working closely with overseas mills and factories, ensuring fabrics meet both design vision and commercial requirements. This role offers hybrid working.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising directly with fabric mills in China to source and develop new fabrics in line with seasonal design direction
  • Working closely with internal design teams to translate ideas into commercially viable fabric developments
  • Managing fabric development from concept through to bulk production
  • Liaise and build strong relationships between China fabric mills and factories in Bangladesh as well as the design team
  • Support with innovation, identifying new fabric trends, finishes and techniques
  • Collaborate with factories in Bangladesh to ensure fabric quality, performance and timelines are met
  • Attend and travel to fabric shows in China to source newness and build relationships
  • Monitor fabric performance, costings and lead times to ensure alignment with business requirements

Person specification:

  • Experience within a fabric development role
  • Strong knowledge of jersey is highly desirable
  • A bright, enthusiastic and self‑motivated individual with a proactive approach
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • A strong personality, able to work at pace and manage multiple priorities
  • Commercially aware with a good understanding of the product lifecycle
