Our client is looking to appoint a passionate Womenswear Designer to support both the design team and in-house production function. This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded designer who can analyse the market, identify new shape opportunities and support the full product journey from concept through to delivery.

The role will focus on researching the womenswear market, developing new and updated shape ideas and working closely with internal teams to ensure product is developed accurately and on time. It would suit someone with previous supplier or retail experience, a strong commercial eye and good technical understanding of product and construction.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Researching market trends and product direction, preparing tear sheets and comparative analysis
  • Conducting print, shape and fabric analysis through comp shops, working closely with the wider design team
  • Forecasting future trends and identifying gaps in current ranges
  • Interpreting trends into commercial, relevant product
  • Developing new shape ideas from development briefs and updating bestselling shapes
  • Following product development from initial brief through to production
  • Producing complete digital technical packs ready for factory use
  • Working closely with pattern cutters, sample room and garment tech teams to support development and meet deadlines
Person specification:
  • Relevant commercial design experience within a supplier or retail environment
  • Strong trend awareness and ability to interpret trends into commercial product
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with good technical pack experience
  • Strong fabric knowledge across jersey and woven
  • Organised, detail focused and confident working to deadlines and critical path
