We are looking for a Designer across womenswear jersey to join a well-established, design-led fashion supplier with a strong footprint across the UK and Ireland market. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Womenswear Designer to join a small, collaborative design team, working across elevated fashion jersey and multi-product categories including tops, dresses, leisure, nightwear, casual woven bottoms and denim. This role is based in London and offers hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing trend-driven womenswear ranges across multiple product areas and customer briefs.
- Producing regular trend and catwalk research, identifying key silhouettes, fabrics and design details, and reacting quickly to emerging commercial trends.
- Owning the end-to-end design process, from initial concept and research through to tech packs, sample development and final presentations to Buyers.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with buyer and design teams, hosting meetings to present newness and secure alignment on direction, briefs and priorities.
- Creating CADs, technical sketches and detailed tech packs, confidently briefing overseas production teams.
- Managing and chasing developments to critical dates, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality, commercially relevant samples for sign off.
Person specifications
- Previous experience designing womenswear jersey for a supplier or retailer, ideally working with UK and Ireland high street customers.
- Confident producing detailed, accurate tech packs and briefing offshore teams to achieve excellent sample standards, with experience of Bangladesh supply a plus.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating across functions, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- A self-starter who takes ownership, shows initiative, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative and positive office culture.
£50000 - £55000 per annum + excellent company benefits
