Overview
A leading UK fashion supplier is seeking a Girlswear Designer to join their London-based studio on a maternity cover contract. This role focuses on designing fun, commercial leisurewear collections for key high street retail partners, offering hands-on design experience and the opportunity to collaborate closely with a passionate and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the design and development of girls\’ leisurewear and outerwear collections
- Creating CADs for customer presentations and internal use
- Building tech packs and ensuring accurate sample development
- Maintaining sample trackers and updating fabric and trim libraries
- Communicating with merchandising teams in Shanghai and UK buying teams
- Assisting with admin tasks including post, showroom organisation, and folder maintenance
- Preparing shop reports and trend packs with seasonal inspiration
- Keeping internal systems like OneDrive up to date with design documentation
Qualifications
- Some previous experience in girlswear or leisurewear is desirable
- Strong CAD skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Familiarity with Excel and CLO 3D is advantageous
- Creative and commercial eye for trend-led, forward-thinking design
- Proactive, organised, and collaborative approach in a fast-paced team environment
