One of the leading suppliers to the UK high street is expanding and looking to appoint a talented Boys Sportswear Designer. Menswear experience is desirable. Reporting into the Design Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a creative and commercially aware designer to develop their career within a supportive, fun, and fast-paced environment. The role offers excellent training and progression opportunities, as well as exposure to a broad product range, with involvement in menswear and boys outerwear. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company in a dynamic central London studio, where designers are encouraged to develop, innovate, and thrive.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Support the planning and design of boys sportswear ranges
- Create CAD designs for both customer presentations and internal collections
- Develop detailed tech packs to ensure accurate sample production
- Maintain and update sample trackers
- Ensure fabric and trim libraries are organised and up to date
- Liaise with internal merchandising teams in Shanghai
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buying teams
- Carry out general office administration (post, maintaining rails and folders)
- Produce shop reports, including competitor analysis and trend research
- Update trend packs and proactively source new fabrics and trims
- Maintain internal systems (e.g. OneDrive) with accurate and up-to-date documents
- Develop initial seasonal trend packs, including shapes, fabrics, colours, graphics, and mood direction
- Participate in inspirational shopping trips (including international travel)
- Continue developing skills in new software, including AI tools
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in menswear design (experience in boyswear or sportswear is advantageous)
- Strong CAD skills, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to design commercial yet forward-thinking fashion ranges for long lead-time supply
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
- Positive, driven, and determined attitude
