Role Description
The SEQF & IPS Employment Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bristol.
This position focuses on supporting individuals with barriers to employment through structured education, qualifications, and Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approaches.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, providing one-to-one guidance, preparing clients for interviews, and supporting them through the job application process.
The role involves building relationships with local employers, coordinating training and work readiness activities, and monitoring progress to ensure sustainable employment outcomes.
The Employment Specialist will collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners, maintain accurate records, and provide ongoing post-placement support to both clients and employers.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to engage sensitively with people facing complex barriers to employment.
- Interviewing skills for assessing client needs, job readiness, and suitability for roles.
- Customer Service skills to provide responsive, respectful, and solution-focused support to clients and employers.
- Training skills to deliver employability workshops, skills sessions, and one-to-one coaching.
- Recruiting skills to identify suitable employment opportunities, liaise with employers, and match candidates effectively.
- Experience or knowledge of IPS or similar evidence-based employment support models is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and partner agencies.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills, with proficiency in basic IT and case management systems.
- Experience supporting people with criminal records or complex needs is an advantage.
- Relevant vocational qualification or experience in employability, social care, education, or related fields is beneficial.
