Field-based (Company HQ based in the Midlands)Base salary – £50k – £65k + car/car allowance + commissionWe are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth within the UK Fire and Security sector. The role focuses on business-to-business sales, developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts across commercial and industrial markets.You will be responsible for identifying and targeting new opportunities, managing the full sales lifecycle, and promoting a portfolio of security and life safety solutions to end users, contractors, consultants, and facilities teams.This is a field-based role requiring strong sector knowledge, technical credibility, and a proven ability to win and retain B2B customers.Key Responsibilities Identify, target, and secure new B2B opportunities within the fire and security marketDevelop and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with revenue targetsManage the full sales process from lead generation through to contract awardPrepare and present tailored proposals, quotations, and tender responsesClient & Relationship Management Build long-term relationships with decision-makers, including facilities managers, consultants, main contractors, and end usersAct as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and matching them with compliant fire and security solutionsAttend client meetings, site surveys, and industry eventsMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes affecting fire and security systemsWork closely with operations, design, and engineering teams to ensure accurate and deliverable solutionsPromote company accreditations, compliance standards, and quality credentialsReporting & Compliance Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reportsEnsure all sales activity complies with relevant UK standards and legislation, including BS and EN requirementsExperience and qualifications Proven B2B sales experience within the UK fire and security industryStrong understanding of fire and security systems, standards, and complianceDemonstrable success in new business development and account growthAbility to manage long sales cycles and tender-based opportunitiesExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsFull UK driving licenceExperience working with consultants, main contractors, or FM companiesKnowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266, NSI, SSAIB, BAFE, or equivalent standardsExperience selling service and maintenance contracts
