Working for a market-leading Engineering & Construction contractor’s Energy division, delivering complex high-voltage and substation infrastructure projects across the UK.
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 basic + Package
Role Description: The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a well-established engineering contractor specialising in HV infrastructure, substation build and multi-disciplinary delivery across the Energy sector. Operating as a principal contractor on major frameworks, they deliver full lifecycle solutions from early design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning and energisation.
With a secured long-term framework in place with Scottish Power Energy Networks, the business is delivering substation upgrades and new build works including M&E installations, primary and secondary electrical packages and circuit breaker replacement programmes. These works involve complex sequencing, outage coordination, interface management and live environment constraints.
Due to sustained framework growth and a strong forward order book, they are looking to strengthen their Planning capability to support long-term delivery across Scotland.
As a Project Planner, you will be reporting directly to the Planning Manager for the UK and Scotland Divisions and ensure that individual project programmes are developed, maintained and reported in line with client requirements.
You will play a key role in integrating design, procurement and construction activities into robust P6 programmes that reflect technical constraints, outage windows and stakeholder interfaces. You will also be responsible for collating and reporting activity data to support the commercial team, as well as key performance data for quality management purposes.
This is a perfect role for a P6 Planner in the Energy or Infrastructure sector looking for longevity, stability and internal progression within a technically driven engineering environment in the Glasgow region.
Day to Day duties will vary but could include:
- Take responsibility for coordinating all third-party constraints, design, procurement and construction information into the programme.
- Develop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 programmes across substation, M&E and electrical work packages.
- Support delivery across Balance of Plant works, primary and secondary installations and circuit breaker replacement works.
- Identify programme risks, critical path impacts and mitigation strategies, communicating key issues and solutions proactively to the project team.
- Produce progress reports, earned value data and programme updates in line with client and internal governance requirements.
- Facilitate and lead programme review sessions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-functional project delivery team.
Job Requirement Qualifications:
- Experience within Energy, Power, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors, ideally within HV or substation environments.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining programmes using Primavera P6.
- Engineering Qualification be HNC / HND or Degree in an Engineering based subject (desirable).
