Electrical Engineer – Freelance (Outside IR35)

On-site delivering a new build Power station in Essex over the next 12 – 18 months.

Location: Thurrock, Essex
Salary: £340 – £360 (Outside IR35) per day
Site-based, minimum of 3 days a week, ideally 4 days due to the programme, but there is flexibility to work from home as the programme requires.

Your experience: Infrastructure – Renewables, Power, Oil, Gas, Mining, Energy from Waste.

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with an M&E contractor who has been awarded the installation of a new Power station based in Essex. We are mobilising a team to deliver the programme over the next 12 – 18 months, hence looking for a temporary/freelance contractor to support the delivery of the scheme.

Your duties will vary depending on the programme of works but could include:

1. Ensuring quality is maintained and approving electrical design deliverables.
2. Making independent decisions on Electrical Engineering issues and bringing them to the attention of the Technical and Operations team.
3. Putting Health, Safety, and Environment protection at the heart of the work being undertaken from the Design through to Delivery stage.
4. Directing and coordinating all project electrical engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design such as procurement strategy, preparation of specifications, and selection of suppliers.
5. Discussing the project deliverables with Engineering Project Managers to ensure their timely and cost-effective execution.

Experience & Qualifications:

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Time-served Apprentice with experience in the Energy from Waste or Power Station sectors.
2. Electrical Design experience that could include Cable Calculation, Earthing, and Containment.
3. Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
