Working for a Tier 1 contractor delivering rail schemes across the Home Counties region. Rail experience is not needed for this role; however, the quantity surveyor must have civil project NEC contract experience.

Hybrid working: 3 days on site and 2 days working from home.
Role Description:
The Resolute Group is proud to be working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor, delivering a range of infrastructure projects across the rail sector. We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of rail projects ranging from £1m to £15m. Projects will typically encompass platform works, step-free access and accessibility works covering new lifts and lift shafts, footbridge upgrades or replacements, station structures and buildings such as new or refurbished footbridges, canopy strengthening or replacement, roof repairs, structural remediation to aging assets, roof replacement, canopies and improved access.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will join an established commercial project team and will not be expected to operate at Senior Quantity Surveyor level. The role is structured to provide strong support and development, with guidance from a Senior Quantity Surveyor who manages the running of the project and subcontractor packages. The Quantity Surveyor will also receive oversight and mentoring from a Managing Quantity Surveyor responsible for reporting, cost control, and forecasting across multiple projects, ensuring clear direction, support, and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial delivery of multiple rail infrastructure work packages across projects valued between £1m and £15m, under the guidance of Senior Quantity Surveyors.
- Assist with the management of subcontractor packages, including valuations, variations, and change control in line with the contract.
- Support contract administration activities to ensure commercial processes are followed and payment milestones are achieved.
- Assist with the review and processing of subcontractor payments and contract amendments.
- Contribute to the preparation of cost reports and cash flow forecasts for internal reporting and client submissions.
- Act as a point of contact for day-to-day commercial matters between the site team, subcontractors, and the wider commercial team, escalating where required.
This is a perfect role for someone working in the local region and looking for a stable live project, with a pipeline of over £100m to be delivered over the next 4 years. Working on a hybrid basis, you will be working on site 3 days a week, then 2 days from home for admin and MS Teams meetings.
Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, ideally, or similar qualification.
- Experience on site in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Previously involved in civil engineering projects valued between £1m and £20m, with experience supporting commercial activities across multiple work packages would be ideal.
- Experience supporting commercial activities on civil engineering projects delivered under NEC contract.
- Full clean driving licence.
