Working for a Tier 1 contractor on Sub Station refurbishment projects across the North West of the UK and North Wales.

Rate: £550 per day – 5 days a week - Outside IR35

Duration: 6 months minimum.

Locations: Manchester – Rhyl – Liverpool regions

Role Description: The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor who has won multiple projects and frameworks with National Grid. With a guaranteed 3-year pipeline of work on essential Sub-station civil engineering packages in the North West and North Wales region.

Site Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site-level operations, health & safety, RAMS, site clearance, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Manage end-to-end heavy civil engineering packages across active substation sites.
  • Scope of civil works includes:
    • Excavations & groundworks
    • Heavy civils & reinforced concrete structures/foundations
    • Drainage, kerbing, and roadworks
    • Trench works & de-watering systems

Candidate Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering Background: Proven track record delivering groundworks, heavy civils, and structural packages.
  • National Grid experience preferred but not essential: Direct experience on live National Grid substation sites is preferred, however civil engineering candidates without direct tickets will be put through required training.
  • Mobility: Full willingness to travel to various sites as this role is an overspill position due to the amount of work being awarded. Focused in the North West but for long term work the more flexibility to stay away the better.
  • Required Experience: HNC / HND / Degree in Civil engineering or equivalent engineering-based subject.
  • Previously managed a smaller £5m - £10m civil engineering scheme
  • Full driving licence
