Planning Manager – Utilities Transformation

Excellent first step in moving from an operational role into a change and transformation position.

Location: West Midlands (between Birmingham & Coventry)

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 + benefits

Permanent position working on a Hybrid basis (3 days on-site, 2 days from home)

The Resolute Group have been retained by a leading National Utilities Consultancy who are driving a major transformation programme within the Streetworks and Planning function.

They are looking for two Planning Managers to join on a permanent basis, bringing expertise to shape processes, embed best practice, and support the successful implementation of new systems.

Day to day duties could include:

  • Supporting the client with the planning and scheduling of reactive and corrective maintenance activities across water and gas networks.
  • Identifying the processes undertaken when prioritising work orders to ensure urgent faults and breakdowns are addressed quickly while balancing planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Mapping out the resources, skills, and equipment effectively to understand the productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations at all stages of the planning cycle.
  • Supporting, training, and guiding the Planning team through the implementation of new planning systems.
  • Embedding best practice in planning processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across teams.
  • Collaborating with Change Consultants and stakeholders to streamline workflows and reporting.

This role is working on a client\’s site 3 days a week, then 2 days a week from home on a hybrid working pattern. The days will change to reflect your involvement with the project and client\’s expectations.

Required Experience:

  • Planning experience focused on Utilities and ideally reactive maintenance.
  • Full UK driving licence as travel is a requirement to visit the client site.
  • Living in a commutable location to the West Midlands (Birmingham / Coventry)
