Working for a specialist engineering contractor delivering high-voltage substation and transmission projects across the National Grid network in England. This is an opportunity to join a growing delivery team supporting a strong pipeline of secured works, including framework allocations, balance of plant packages, and multi-contractor project environments across the UK grid.

Location: Central England (site-based with flexibility to travel North & South)

Contract: Freelance / £600 Outside IR35

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a contractor delivering complex HV substation and transmission works. This role is ideal for an experienced Project Planner who understands the sequencing, risks, and coordination required across live grid projects.

You will play a key role in developing and managing project programmes, working closely with delivery, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with National Grid requirements.

  • Build programmes from first principles using design, commercial, and site inputs
  • Support tender planning and programme development for upcoming works
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to align programme with delivery strategy
  • Monitor progress on site, tracking performance against programme and identifying risks or delays
  • Facilitate planning and coordination meetings with internal teams and subcontractors

Proven experience as a Project Planner within civil engineering, utilities, or energy.

Strong background working on HV substation, cabling, OHL, or wider T&D projects.

Proficient in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Strong understanding of construction sequencing, risk, and project lifecycles.
