The Rescue Hotel is the supporting charity of Cardiff Dog\’s Home. Cardiff Dogs Home is run by Cardiff Council and takes in around 650 stray dogs from Cardiff and the surrounding areas each year. If a dog is not reclaimed by their owner within 7 days, they are placed for adoption.
That’s where we come in.
The Rescue Hotel is here to provide extra care, support, and funding to ensure every dog gets a second chance. One of the ways we provide support is through funding their veterinary care at our onsite veterinary suite, the Rescue Hotel Health Centre, which also provides a vaccination, neutering and preventative health care service to the general public.
Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for the full-time position of Health Centre Co-Ordinator (HCC). The HCC will effectively deliver excellent service to all public clients, collaborate with Cardiff Dog\’s Home to ensure every resident\’s needs are met, and to handle general administration duties for The Rescue Hotel.
You will be responsible for dealing with all general enquiries and act as the first point of contact for the Health Centre by telephone, email and in person. As well as your administrative duties, you will also assist the veterinary team with admitting, discharging and handling patients on surgery and vaccination days.
You will be responsible for coordinating the veterinary care for the residents of Cardiff Dog\’s Home that are in kennels or in a foster home.
You will need to be a strong representative of the charity and support the Trustees with general administrative duties alongside your responsibilities as the HCC.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dedicated and self-motivated. Previous experience in a veterinary practice is not essential but we are certainly looking for someone who is willing to learn and can demonstrate passion for what we do.
Salary and Hours
The annual salary for this role is £26,325 and this is an onsite role of 37.5 hrs. per week (Monday-Friday)
