Your role involves managing Kingfisher’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance through expertise in systems, virtualization, scripting, networking, storage, and security. As a Server Platforms and Operating Systems Engineer, you will manage and maintain the infrastructure supporting Kingfisher’s IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and various operating systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining server operating systems, including patching, security updates, and performance tuning.
- Monitoring server performance and resolving system issues to ensure maximum uptime.
- Developing automation solutions to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
- Collaborating with other teams and external vendors for system integration and interoperability.
- Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard servers and data.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of server configurations and processes.
What you’ll bring:
- A strong understanding of operating systems and virtualization, proficient in scripting and automation, with knowledge of networking and storage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and security awareness.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and ESXi.
- Experience with VMware and KVM virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and automation tools like Ansible.
- Knowledge of storage technologies such as Fibre Channel or iSCSI.
