Company Description

Based remotely – up to £40K depending on experience. A Reverse Mentoring for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Consultant is needed to join our new, growing business. At the ReMEDI Project, our vision is to eliminate discrimination in the workplace so that people and businesses can thrive because of their differences. We do this by working with small and large employers (including the NHS). We support progressive organisations who just want to harness the power of inclusion. We also support organisations in trouble, those who are aware that they have EDI challenges, don’t know what to do, but are committed to doing the work to improve.

We are redefining EDI services, learning and development, emerging as a leading provider of cutting edge reverse mentoring programmes, where senior executives are mentored by colleagues from underrepresented groups, who are in more junior positions. Our highly innovative approach to reverse mentoring disrupts traditional power structures that perpetuate systematic disadvantage and discriminatory cultures. We are unashamedly disruptive, provocative and utterly relentless in our mission to drive individual, institutional and societal change in the UK and internationally. We have built our reputation as innovative EDI fixers in the health and university sectors and our ambition is to make our mark in other sectors within the next five years.

Job Description

About the role… Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, you will be the linchpin that ensures that we deliver the highest quality reverse mentoring and EDI services to our clients and stakeholders whilst contributing to service innovations for the future. You will draw on your EDI experience to offer invaluable insight, support and practical guidance, whilst developing long lasting and meaningful client relationships that deliver long-term commercial success. To succeed, you will be able to deal with the uncertainty and be un-phased by the complexity that comes with working in a new, small, ambitious start-up that is already punching above its weight.

What you will be doing…

  • Contribute to the development and growth of our mission, brand, services and resources
  • Promote and role model our values both internally and externally
  • Provide reverse mentoring consultancy support that produces an excellent experience for the client and end user
  • Liaise with our clients to design, plan, implement and evaluate each reverse mentoring programme using our ReMEDI Framework
  • Facilitation and delivery of agreed programmes and bespoke consultancy and coaching
  • Creation and curation of new and existing reverse mentoring content
  • Deliver and facilitate training, preparation, peer support and reflective practice to reverse mentors and reverse mentees
  • Ensure all outputs are at the highest standards of excellence whilst maintaining commercial viability
  • Data collection and analysis to demonstrate success and return on investment
  • End of project report writing, including evidence of success against the agreed programme KPIs/deliverables
  • Innovation and development of processes as the business grows and evolves
  • Build the accessibility and visibility of our content, programmes and services
  • Create a pipeline of opportunity from existing client relationships
  • Support with the draft of bids/proposals working with the CSO and CEO
  • Continue your professional development and training to support role delivery and development

As well as this list, you will need to take on other tasks in line with the job, but we will provide you with the tools you need to succeed, whatever we ask you to do.

Qualifications

What we need you to bring to succeed…

  • Smart and intelligent thinking, but you don’t need to have a degree or PhD to prove it!
  • Demonstrable experience as an EDI specialist, consultant, manager or advisor
  • Experience of working within the NHS is highly advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong commitment to driving improvements in EDI and a fascination with experimentation
  • Experience of launching and managing game-changing EDI initiatives and innovative engagement activities
  • Experience and proven track record of project and programme delivery
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, you will be comfortable creating and delivering training and development sessions that drive alignment and commitment

  • An ability to identify innovative ways to stimulate deep learning in anyone, from porters and cleaners, to clinicians, students, Directors and Chief Executives
  • Strong problem solving, time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to rapidly build rapport with clients and colleagues, you will have a strong degree of gravitas needed to be a trusted 'face' of the company
  • Passionate about what you do, you will have an eye on industry trends and be confident to take a stance
