Regional Manager (RehabCare)

RehabCare is known nationally as a trusted, high quality and consistent service provider. Across all RehabCare services, an individualised approach is taken to ensure that each person has a support service that meets their needs but also enables

them to progress on their individual journey, develop and become more independent over time.

We will continue to develop services in geographic areas where the need is greatest, in line with Government policy, demographic trends, and funder priorities.

We will seek to develop and implement new and innovative models of service, particularly in the areas of respite services, residential services and day services while also exploring approaches to personalised budgets as part of the RehabCare offering.

Through our approved housing body, Newgrove, we will continue to support the delivery of RehabCare strategic priorities, so the people that use our services can live in and be part of their local communities.

Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Regional Manager will have responsibility for the operation of our Care services on a regional basis, ensuring the provision of high-quality and exceptional services, consistent with the regulatory standards. They will lead and develop the Operations team on a regional basis in fulfilling its purpose; to provide a range of innovative support services for people with disabilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead and manage a team of service managers across the region.

  • Strategic planning and development of new services.

  • Managing resources in an efficient and effective way, always ensuring that services are provided within budget and through the most cost-effective methods.

  • Driving the development and implementation of the annual business planning process for their region.

  • Reviewing and monitoring a range of Key performance Indicators (KPIs), utilising all relevant data to maximise the region’s performance.

  • Provide support to specific strategic projects related to the business and region.

  • Develop and maintain key strategic relationships with the organisation’s funders within the CHO regions with regard to negotiation/management of Service Level Agreements and identifying opportunities for developing and expanding the Care services, where appropriate to its mission and where proven to be financially sustainable

  • Proactive networking and relationship management within local communities and with key stakeholders to expand the influence of RehabCare within the health and social care services sector, promoting the organisation at all times.

  • Engaging actively with stakeholders in determining appropriate placements for individuals within health and social care services.

  • Fostering and cultivating teamwork, encouraging and promoting a culture of innovation, shared learning and practice across the organisation.

  • Promoting a solution driven approach within the management teams, to be results orientated and outcome focused.

  • Ensuring that all policies and procedures of Rehab Group and RehabCare are adhered to and that all administrative processes are completed as necessary.

  • Managing Health and Safety requirements and procedures, in accordance with legislation and company policy.

  • Driving continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of a Quality Assurance Strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulation.

  • Actively embedding the Business Excellence model throughout the region.

  • Reporting all matters pertaining to health and social care services to the Head of Operations, as required.

  • Acting as Designated Officer in line with Safeguarding requirements.

  • To promote a culture that values diversity and respect in the workplace.

  • Embed a culture of Performance Management throughout the organization.

  • Participating on a national on-call rota, as required.

  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties related to the above, as required

  • Conducting investigations and participating on disciplinary panels, as required.

Required experience/ qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a regional management role.
  • A third level qualification in health and social care, education or other relevant areas. Masters level education is desirable.
  • Experience in leading out on strategic projects with a proven track record of delivering business outcomes.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate a large workforce towards the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Experience leading and delivering strategic change programmes in organisations of a similar size and complexity.
  • Developing and successfully managing relationships with partners, internal and external stakeholders and funders.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills. Ability to deal effectively with competing demands.
  • Proven ability of reporting and analysis to ensure effective budget control and value for money.
  • Demonstrates strong personal values that align to the Rehab Group values, mission and vision.
  • Proven ability to make difficult and challenging decisions that support strategic aims and long-term vision.
  • Experience or knowledge of the charity or not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working with Board/s of Directors would be an advantage.
