Permanent Contract 39 hours Limerick Resource Centre, Parnell Place, Co Limerick
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to promote and support independent living and community integration, personal development and work opportunities for service users. The role will be based in a large Resource Centre. To supervise staff and to assist the Manager in the development, implementation and delivery of quality customer focused and cost effective community services to service users at an appropriate time and setting. This includes the provision of individual programmes and activities to meet the needs, choices and abilities of service users in line with the HSE New Directions policy and guidelines. The role may require travel across locations in Galway city and county.
What we’re looking for:
- A Third level graduate, health and social care equivalent minimum level 6 full degree
- Minimum two years’ experience of working with adults with disabilities
- Well-developed people management skills, with proven experience of building, leading and motivating a team.
- Ability to manage behaviours that cause concern.
Your Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships and communication with service users, facilitating them to identify their goals, strengths and needs.
- Provide service users with accessible information on available community based supports, ensuring all activities and supports are monitored and maintained at an appropriate pace to ensure sustainability.
- To advocate on behalf of and support self-advocacy for service users in a number of settings, including, with family, HSE, community groups etc.

Salary: starting from point 1 €39,093.36 to point 16 €57,310.33 (pro rata) and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
