We are an independent voluntary organisation providing services and support for people with disabilities and their families for more than 70 years. Our work positively impacts the lives of over 12,000 people with disabilities, equipping them with confidence, skills, and self‐belief to achieve their expressed goals.
Job Purpose
To provide a personal care service to individuals with Intellectual Disability and Mental Health Difficulties within a high‐support residential service setting, in an environment that values and respects the individual, fosters a positive behavioural support approach to supporting people with challenging behaviours, and promotes community‐based living, personal development and social inclusion.
Qualifications
- Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively in a team providing person‐centred support for service users.
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of service users at all times.
- Full Clean Driver's Licence.
Responsibilities
- Promote and actively get involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user.
- Facilitate and implement a person‐centred service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users.
- Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporating choice.
Working Conditions
Permanent Part‐Time Contract, 24 hours per week
Location: Kilkenny Supported Accommodation, William Street, Co Kilkenny
Closing Date: Monday, 29th June 2026
We offer a competitive starting salary of €15.26 to €17.40 per Hour (Points 1–5 of the salary scale), with placement based on qualifications, skills and relevant experience, plus sleepover allowance and premium pay for bank holiday and Sunday shift. Our salary scale consists of 12 incremental points with earnings increasing each year up to a maximum of €21.14 per hour.
